Uninstall AVG

Script to uninstall AVG Antivirus

Description

This agent procedure will run a command to leverage the AVG executable and silently uninstall it from the endpoint. The command also prevent the machine from requiring to restart.
Even though AVG will be removed from the machine, it might still show up as installed in the VSA.

Hello Douglas Sanchez, How do we prevent the AVG installation to show up as installed in the VSA? Regards,

What version of AVG is this for? The Kaseya Asset shows the uninstall string as C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Setup\avgsetupx.exe /mode=offline /uninstall=bav - however this fails for me. The .exe referenced in your script does not exist in the free version (17.6.3029)

@Pieter: In order to prevent the AVG installation to show up in the VSA, you would need to clean up the corresponding SQL table. I don't have this information available right now, but this is only compatible for On Prem environments. @Robin: This procedure was designed for the AVG version supported by the VSA. It supports multiple version, which are using \AVG\Av\avgmfapx.exe to uninstall. You should be able to modify the procedure to uninstall yours by changing the first line to fit your version of AVG.

I was sent a query from a coworker to cleanup the SQL tables, I have not been able to test it myself as I don't have access to an environment with AVG to be able to run the query on. The query deletes the required SQL entries for a specific GUID, you will need to run the queries for each machine (using the GUID) that you need to not see as having AVG installed. I can provide the query, but I can't guarantee of its effect.
