Clean hard drive

Cleanup Endpoint Downloads Folder

Empty the folder Endpoint Downloads

This agent procedure is designed to run on your VSA server to cleanup the Endpoint Downloads folder from files older than a set amount of days.
There are two versions of the procedure, one to delete all files older than 90 days, the other one will prompt for the amount of days you want to use as variable.
This folder is where the VSA stores patches and other files from the Software Management module, it is by default located in C:\Kaseya\EndpointDownloads. If the VSA was installed on a different drive, line 3 of the agent procedure needs to be edited to the correct path.

Warning, warning: cleaning up everything over a certain date broke KAM installations for us!! I've asked for this a few times as the Endpoint Downloads folder was getting out of control at 116 GB and over 36,000 files (as I already cleaned about 20,000 files by removing what I certainly don't need). After cleaning up everything over 365 days we're left with just 37 GB in just over 2,800 files. That's a big change, so I appreciate Kaseya took some time to make this semi-official. I was hoping for a maintenance task in the nightly SQL tasks to keep this under control, but I understand it will vary according to the bandwith you have available. Keeping 365 days of download history should be more than enough for anyone....

Using this Kaseya tool was responsible for breaking KAM installations. The installation files used to be downloaded from the ..\Kaseya\WebPages\ManagedFiles folder structure, but silently was moved to the EndpointDownloads folder.
Not sure that was a great idea. At the very least Kaseya should have considered making subfolders for different content you shouldn't clean. Support supplied me with 4 extensions you shouldn't remove (*.zip, *.ospx, *.plp and *.pls). Please bring out an update to reflect that....
